“When the mind adjusts to simply staying here, then that mind is not called mind any more. It’s just Self. It’s only ever Self.” —Mooji
Come along to Julia’s class and share the life-changing practice of yoga. Mats and props are provided.
Yoga is much more than a good workout: it is a journey towards self-realization that empowers us to achieve unity of body, mind and soul and to lead a balanced life full of bliss and happiness.
Julia’s teaching is based on Ashtanga yoga, which synchronizes breath with a progressive series of postures. This process produces intense internal heat and purifying sweat, detoxifying muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body and a calm mind.
Inspired by her practice of Bhakti yoga, in her class Julia includes pranayama practice and meditation for a unique and holistic yoga experience.
Julia is a qualified yoga teacher. Born in Freiburg, Germany, in 1981, Julia moved to Dublin, Ireland, in 2000, and then to Wellington in 2006. She has been practising and teaching yoga for several years and completed her 200 hours Yoga Alliance Teacher Training in 2010 in Byron Bay, Australia, with Flo Fenton, a world renowned yoga practitioner and teacher with special expertise in Yoga Therapy.
Julia has trained in Wellington and New Zealand with Mike Berghan, Peter Sanson, John Scott and Mark Robbers as well as with R. Sharath Jois at the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. She is also a massage therapist and meditation practitioner and instructor.

We’re a welcoming orchestra with a size (typically 40-50 members) and composition changing according to the term’s programme. To broaden the repertoire the orchestra also joins with other musical groups on occasion.
