This Sunday New Zealand is recovering from the terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch. As of today the total is 50 people dead.
What was going to be an entirely pride focused service did double duty today – recognising the fact that the terrible attack in Christchurch is another example of a human being’s intolerance of people different from themselves. We all have this tendency and need much patience, persistence and courage to overcome our natural tendency to only mix with those like ourselves.
The reflection delivered today ended with “Sisters and brothers, let us love one another, for love is of God.”
