Lectures held at St Andrew's are organised by the St Andrew’s Trust for the Study of Religion and Society
Join us for a fantastic concert in our regular weekly lunchtime series at St Andrew’s on The Terrace. This week, we feature a Flute and Guitar Duo, with Elsa Shih and Sirisan Sobhanasiri.
Elsa Shih graduated from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (UK) with a MMus degree. She studied with Marie-Christine Zupancic at Birmingham Conservatoire. She was the former Co-Principal Flute of Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra and Guiyang Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Piccolo. She joined Wellywind Trio in 2021 and is now based in Wellington, NZ as a freelance musician and runs her own studio, Elsa Shih Music Studio.
Sirisan (Kwan) is a guitarist from Thailand. He obtained his master’s degree at the New Zealand School of Music under the guidance of Dr Jane Curry – the head of classical guitar within the classical department as well as Prof. Donald Maurice, and Owen Moriaty. Throughout his time in New Zealand, Sirisan has been a part of many performances and recording projects.
Elsa and Kwan have been playing together since 2020. They have been invited to play at places such as the Guitar Society concert series and Victoria University.
